NIGHTWATCH

As we continue to demonstrate what we can do, we offer this nugget. A music video our company KEYCHAIN-productions LLC did for Mina Fedora that just went live today. It’s not your typical music video but rather a homage to classic horror with lots of subtext. Please feel free to comment and enjoy our latest creation.

Still here…

Posted: January 24, 2012 in Uncategorized

While we may be engaged in other things, this is still on our back burner and never out of mind, just keeping this updated to let you all know that we are still working on it. We will NOT stop until this gets made! It’s just too damned good of a script and story and has generated interest from some interesting and well known people, which further confirms our belief. This film deserves better than the incredibly low budget treatment. It deserves a chance to be broadly released and seen with top shelf work. And that is what we expect will happen, in time.

Not Forgotten…

Posted: January 5, 2012 in Uncategorized

The start of a new year and big things for Neil and I. We are officially up and running as KEYCHAIN-productions, taking our 50 combined years of experience and putting them to use in all sorts of areas. Now that this is our livelihood, we must have many pots on many burners at one time to keep moving forward.

We have plans for not only this film (still our biggest project) but also for a documentary and a reality show spec. We will be doing a variety of other production jobs as well as we move forward from here, but we will NEVER forsake this project and keep plugging away until the right person steps up and funds it. It’s just too damned good to do on a tiny budget. So if you are reading this and have the means, you need to contact us if you would like to be connected to a film that has great potential! And we will continue to post here as we go.

New Era…

Posted: December 2, 2011 in Uncategorized

Some changes have occurred in the lives of Neil and I that have the potential to lead to great things in the coming year. We are now going to be able to focus our attention on this and other projects with laser intensity and I assure you, you will be hearing more about us as time goes.

Of the projects on our slate, this still stands as the largest and most costly undertaking and we continue to move it along, never forsaking it. Another door has opened in our lives and while it’s only cracked right now, we are gearing up to bust it down. Be listening for that crashing blow!!!

ELYSIAN REVIEWS…

Posted: November 3, 2011 in Uncategorized

We have 2 reviews, so far, for Elysian. Both of them are very strong and we are pleased with what folks are seeing.

The first one came from a podcast by Gruesome Hertzogg, who primarily reviews indie horror films but liked ours so much he had this to say:

A WHILE BACK I INTERVIEWED CINDY MAPLES AND SHE TALKED ABOUT THIS FILM. NOW, I WILL SAY, THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A HORROR. BUT, WHAT I WILL SAY IS THINGS CAN HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE THAT HAVE SIGNS OF HORROR. THAT SAID, THIS IS A WELL MADE MOVIE, A WELL MADE SHORT, GREAT SCENERY, SOME GREAT ACTING.

BASICALLY WHAT THIS FILM IS ABOUT, IT’S A SHORT FANTASY. IT’S ABOUT A WOMAN AND A LITTLE GIRL AND IT GOES INTO THE NEXT LEVEL OF A SHORT FILM, WELL MADE. THIS IS UNUSUAL FOR ME TO BE REVIEWING BECAUSE IT IS NOT A HORROR FILM BUT KNOWING THAT I KNEW ABOUT THIS FILM BEFORE IT WAS RELEASED ON YOUTUBE…GREAT PERFORMANCES BY EVERYONE IN THIS FILM. IT’S A HEART FELT MOVIE THAT CAN REALLY MAKE YOU THINK THAT ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE UNEXPECTED. THAT SAID THIS IS GRUESOME HERTZOGG’S HORROR MOVIE REVIEW AND I GIVE THIS SHORT FILM A SEVEN OUT OF TEN. AGAIN, WELL MADE, WELL ACTED, AND WELL SHOT AND AN INTERESTING STORYLINE.

Then Cary Conley of Rogue Cinema posted his review that just blew us away. Click the link below:

Rogue Cinema Review

Elysian

Posted: October 17, 2011 in Uncategorized

The short film is completed as is headed out into the film festival world having already premiered at the River City Film Festival on October 15th to a wonderful reception. Rogue Cinema will be posting a review next month and I have spoken with Cary Conley (the reviewer) and his comments were “WOW! I really loved this film. I’ve enjoyed watching it several times to catch everything. It’s just beautiful from a visual perspective as well as from a storytelling perspective.

This short demonstrates what our group is capable of with limited funds and what happens when creative people get bored and must get out and make something.

It’s our first “art” film and will take a few viewings to “get it” or as Neil puts it, “it’s visual poetry”. We are very proud of how it stacked up to the other films in the festival, some international, in terms of production quality. So take a look, enjoy and post comments.

Into the water…

Posted: September 19, 2011 in Uncategorized

Seeking financial backing is a lot like fishing. You put something on a hook, drop it in the water and sit and stare at the bobber for a nibble. When you don’t get one, you reel in the line, recast and wait some more. Then, you get nibbles and while you haven’t caught a fish yet, you are basking in the joy of the prospect. And boy what a fish story you will have to tell when you finally do catch one.

Just a reminder that we are still here, we are not going away and certainly not empty handed. We have some fantastic bait and when the right fish come along, ah what a day that will be. And while our attention may drift slightly to other projects much like that fisherman noticing the odd turtle on a log or other passing boaters, we keep one eye constantly on the bobber and reposition as needed.

…than to not be going at all. Or so they say and I tend to agree. We have always known this was the highest hurdle to be cleared and we must wait patiently to get over it. In the meantime, we have wrapped Elysian and discovered some great talent. Next we cut that and get it out there to be seen and into some festivals.

I know it feels like we aren’t posting much on here and that’s because we are in this phase. I look forward to the day we can start lighting up this blog and telling you all sorts of things that we can’t right now. Be assured, that day is coming.
